The Government’s current climate plans are not sufficient to meet New Zealand’s long-term emissions budgets, the Climate Change Commission reported on Friday.There are also serious risks that NZ could fail to meet its 2050 target of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, except for biogenic methane.The Climate Change Commission (CCC) said that although NZ was on track to meet its first emissions budget for 2022-2025, it needed to act urgently if it is to meet the second and third budgets.
