Record 35,000 submissions on Auckland budget

Auckland Council received 34,800 submissions during a three-week consultation on its emergency budget. That is the highest number of submissions received on a consultation since the city’s ‘super council’ was formed in 2010, eclipsing the 1,200 responses during the annual budget consultation held earlier in the year. The online ‘have your say’ process, which closed on June 19, asked Aucklanders if they would support average general rate increases of either 2.5 percent or 3.5 percent.Mayor Phil Goff said...
