Black Friday sales may not go as well as expected with a consumer confidence index easing two points in November to 106.9 and still below its historical average of 120, although inflation expectations are picking up.“The key retail spending indicator in the survey is still very weak, suggesting the sharp overshoot in retail sales seen in (the September quarter) is likely to fade relatively quickly.
