Grocery commissioner Pierre van Heerden wrote an open letter to supermarket suppliers on Tuesday, reiterating Foodstuffs and Woolworths’ obligations to them.Referencing the terms stipulated in the Grocery Supply Code, which went into effect on March 28, the letter reminds suppliers of new measures which target power imbalances between suppliers and the supermarket duopoly.Among other objectives, the code attempts to promote transparency and certainty about the terms of agreements and prohibit unfair conduct.There is now no deadline for su...
