OfficeMax is shutting down its chain of 14 retail stores at the end of October and shifting to online trading only. This will mean 55 jobs will be lost, managing director Kevin Obern said.In an email to customers it said it made the difficult decision to close its retail network due to a shift to online purchasing and changing office and work practices compounded by covid-19.“The decision has been very hard as the stores have been part of our business for many years.
