Printer Webstar New Zealand is considering halving operations at its Masterton plant as part of a plan to shift more of its press capacity closer to customers in Auckland. The company, part of Blue Star Group, plans to install a 32-page commercial printing press at its plant in Henderson and decommission three presses at Masterton. It started consulting affected staff today. Chief executive Bernie Roberts said that if the proposal went ahead, 44 positions could be lost in Masterton where the firm currently employs 89 staff.
