Chairman Rob Hewett confirmed the departure to Businessdesk and said he had left for personal and family reasons. New Zealand First, which has campaigned against the planned sale of Silver Fern Farms to Shanghai Maling, issued a statement describing Woodgate's departure as "another bombshell".
