Soft Chinese manufacturing data keeps a lid on kiwi dollar

By Rebecca Howard Oct. 31 (BusinessDesk) - The New Zealand dollar continued to struggle against the greenback after soft manufacturing data out of China raised concerns about a slowdown in this country's largest trading partner.  The kiwi traded at 65.42 US cents at 5 pm in Wellington from 65.50 US cents at 8 am and 65.46 cents yesterday. The trade-weighted index was at 72.07 from 72.03.  China's official Purchasing Managers’ Index fell to 50.2 in October, the lowest since July 2016 and down from 50.8 in September.
