Taranaki acreage offered for exploration

The government is inviting oil and gas firms to apply for exploration permits in Taranaki.The 2019 block offer will be the second since the government banned the granting of new offshore exploration acreage in 2018. In April, Todd Energy was the sole firm granted a permit in the much delayed 2018 block offer.New Zealand Petroleum & Minerals is offering 2,451 square-kilometres for proposals in the latest offer. The area potentially available excludes existing permits, national parks, nature reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, World Heritage site...
