2degrees quietly switched on its 5G mobile network for testing in Auckland on Nov 5 and some people have already unwittingly connected to it.The telco’s engineers are busy testing 5G in Auckland, Wellington, and soon Christchurch, before the service officially launches for its customers more than a year after the 5G networks of competitors Vodafone and Spark.The network in Wellington was switched on a week later, and Christchurch will go live on Dec 2, according to chief technology officer Martin Sharrock. While most 2degrees custome...
