Electric vehicle registrations surged in July as the government’s new subsidy scheme kicked in.There were 1,994 EV (pure battery EVs and plug-in hybrid EVs) registrations in July. This compared to 521 in June. This is the most ever in a single month since the Ministry of Transport started reporting the statistics in 2013.The July month registrations were made up of 1,189 new light EVs and 745 used, with the rest heavy vehicles.This was still just 6.54% of all vehicle registrations for July, but is the highest-ever proportion of EVs with t...
