The Conference Board’s index of US leading indicators rose a better-than-expected 0.9 percent in October, the best gain since July, following a 0.7 percent increase in September. Separately, the Labor Department’s so-called core consumer price index, which excludes food and energy, rose 0.2 percent last month, following a 0.1 percent gain in September...
