By Margreet Dietz May 28 (BusinessDesk) - Wall Street rose, pushing the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index to a fresh record high, amid a slew of data showing that the US economy is gathering steam after an unusually cold winter. In the final hour of trading in New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.34 percent, the S&P 500 gained 0.51 percent, while the Nasdaq Composite Index added 0.95 percent.
