New Zealand Oil & Gas

New Zealand Oil & Gas (NZO) listed on the NZX in 1981. Today the group has production and exploration interests in New Zealand, Indonesia, Australia and the US.

The company has interests in three offshore New Zealand producing fields in the prolific Taranaki basin - Kupe (15%), Tui (27.5%) and Maari (5% - through its control of ASX-listed Cue Energy).

As New Zealand's oil and gas company, New Zealand values are the focus of NZO's activity. NZO is responding to global market conditions by optimising its portfolio and reviewing opportunities to acquire assets at value. Its strategy is; tight control of costs, increased reserves in its Kupe asset, reduced exploration spending focused on significant opportunities and growth through asset acquisition made possible by the current market dislocation.
