Trans-Tasman Resources (TTR) plans to set up a seabed mining operation in New Zealand have been dealt another blow, this time by the supreme court.TTR wanted to overturn a court of appeal decision that quashed a consent to mine iron sands in the South Taranaki Bight within the exclusive economic zone (EEZ).TTR has said the titanomagnetite sand resource, a mineral containing titanium and iron oxides, could provide a $1 billion export industry for the region with minimal impact on the environment.An Environment Protection Authority decision-makin...
