Australian Foundation Investment Company (AFIC) has announced its intention to pay a special dividend of 2.5 cents per share, fully franked, in addition to the interim and final dividends in 2026.
The decision comes as AFIC's board recognised the substantial balance of franking credits the company has accumulated in recent years, particularly through realised capital gains.
The special dividend will be paid with the interim dividend, which is set to be announced on Jan 21, 2026, and with the final dividend, expected to be declared on July 27, 2026.
The board said it will also consider further capital management initiatives for the next financial year, taking into account the balance of franking credits and the generation of realised capital gains.
