Air New Zealand's chief operating officer, Alex Marren, has announced her decision to step down and will depart the airline in March 2026.

Marren, who joined Air New Zealand in 2022, played a key role in rebuilding operational performance after the covid-19 pandemic and led the company through various challenges.

The airline said it will now begin the process of finding a replacement for Marren.

In other leadership changes, Jeremy O'Brien has been appointed as the chief customer and digital officer, effective from October 2025, while Scott Wilkinson will take on the role of chief commercial officer on Oct 7, 2025.
