Vector has announced the appointment of Chris Blenkiron as its new group chief executive officer.
Blenkiron, who is currently the chief executive of Rio Tinto's Tiwai smelter in Invercargill, will be relocating to Auckland and starting his new role in December.
Vector chair, Doug McKay, said Blenkiron impressed the board with his leadership, focus on operational excellence, and strategic thinking.
The search process for the new chief executive was facilitated by Johnson Partners, which considered both local and international candidates.
Vector is an energy company that provides services to over 630,000 residential and commercial customers in New Zealand.
