Downer awarded Defence redevelopment contract

Downer has been awarded a $30 million contract by the Department of Defence for the Planning Phase of the Australian Defence Force’s Riverina Redevelopment Program.

The works, which span NSW and Victoria, are estimated to be worth $1.1 billion over five years and will involve the delivery of major upgrades to accommodation and training facilities, as well as general remediation works.

Downer’s Chief Executive Officer, Grant Fenn, said the proposed program would continue Downer’s proud history of supporting Defence.

Subject to Government and Parliamentary Approvals, the Delivery Phase is scheduled to be completed in late-2023.
