Genesis Energy has reported a strong performance in the second quarter of the 2024 financial year, achieving key milestones and recording significant customer growth.

The company's new Gen35 strategy was launched during the quarter.

It also reached financial close on New Zealand's first project-financed grid-scale solar farm at Lauriston.

In addition, Genesis Energy saw a growth of over 4,500 customers across both the Genesis and Frank brands.

The Kupe KS 9 drilling programme was successfully completed, with the first gas expected in the third quarter of FY24.

Furthermore, Huntly Unit 5 returned to service ahead of schedule in late January.

Genesis Energy's chief executive, Malcolm Johns, highlighted the company's ability to manage future growth and deliver for customers.

The insurance claim related to the Huntly Unit 5 outage is still pending finalisation and is not included in the operating statistics.
