Henderson Far East Income has reported an 8.2% increase in net asset value total return for the half-year ended Feb 29 2024.
The company's share price total return was 4.6%, while the FTSE World Asia Pacific ex Japan Index saw a return of 5.1%.
The board has declared the first and second interim dividends for the financial year ending Aug 31 2024, amounting to 6.10 pence per ordinary share.
This represents a 1.7% increase from the dividends declared in the first half of the previous year.
Henderson Far East Income also revealed that it has repurchased 806,385 shares in the market as part of its ongoing discount management programme.
The company's chairman, Ronald Gould, expressed optimism about investment returns in the Asia Pacific region, citing attractive valuations and a focus on increasing dividends.
