Bremworth Limited has completed an assessment of the damage to its Napier yarn spinning plant caused by Cyclone Gabrielle in February 2023.
The insurance claims process is expected to take a number of months to complete, and the company is offering staff voluntary redundancy or redeployment to its Whanganui plant.
Bremworth has implemented mitigation and business continuity plans, and is successfully sourcing alternative supply arrangements for dyed fibre and yarns.
CEO Greg Smith said the company's priority is its people and they are working through the process in good faith.
