Kingfish has reported a gross performance return of 5.5% for the March quarter, outperforming the S&P/NZX50 gross index, which had a return of 2.8%.
The company also delivered an adjusted net asset value return of 4.8%.
Strong returns were attributed to China-focused infant formula maker, a2 Milk, and cinema software provider, Vista.
However, Ryman Healthcare was a significant detractor during the period.
Kingfish's portfolio includes investments in companies such as Summerset, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, Infratil, and Contact Energy, which also made solid contributions.
The company celebrated its 20th anniversary as a listed investment company in March.
