Chatham Rock Phosphate Limited (CRP) has announced plans to make an early application for a Mining Lease for the Korella North Mine in order to accelerate the approval process and begin mining phosphate in December 2023.

The application is made possible by the large amount of geological knowledge on the deposit, allowing for the preparation of a mining plan to produce 100,000 tonnes of phosphate in the first year and 250,000 tonnes annually thereafter.

CRP is also working to lodge a Development Application for the Cloncurry Phosphate Distribution Hub.

Operating cash flows from the mine are anticipated to finance the reapplication for a Marine Consent for the Chatham Rise project.
