New Talisman Gold Mines has provided an update on gold concentrate production from its newly commissioned processing plant.

The company said the first bulk consignment of 29kg of wet concentrate was dispatched to an Australian-based refiner in early August.

However, the consignment was delayed by 10 days due to a closer inspection by Australian customs.

The concentrate was eventually released and delivered to the refiner.

The refiner has requested a higher grade of concentrate, and New Talisman said its processing team is already working on this.

A further 231kg of concentrate has been produced from a stockpile of Talisman ore.

The company said the stockpile material is highly variable in grade, which adds complexity to data consistency.

It also noted an issue with the accumulation of gold in the processing plant's ball mill, but said this is a normal occurrence and the gold is not lost.
