Fletcher Building has announced the appointment of Nick Traber as the acting chief executive, replacing Ross Taylor.

Traber, who is currently the chief executive of the company's concrete division, will assume the role on March 29 2024, for an interim period.

The appointment comes as part of Fletcher Building's chief executive renewal process.

The board is now undertaking a robust search process for a permanent chief executive, which includes considering both internal and external candidates.

Taylor will continue to be available to support Traber and the business until August 23 2024, to ensure an orderly transition.

In addition to the CEO transition, Fletcher Building is also in the midst of a board renewal process.

Doug McKay will step down from the board on June 30 2024, while Rob McDonald will retire and not stand for re-election at the next annual shareholders' meeting.
