Precinct Properties has announced its commitment to develop a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) facility for the University of Auckland at the Carlaw Park Student Village in Auckland.

The development will be the largest student accommodation facility in New Zealand, comprising approximately 960 self-contained studios.

The project, which is valued at around $290 million, is strategically located at 22 Stanley Street, adjacent to the Stuart McCutcheon House.

It is underpinned by a long-term lease agreement with the university.

Precinct will retain a 20% interest in the partnership and serve as the developer, development manager, and property manager.

The company has also formed a conditional strategic real estate investment partnership with a Singapore-based institutional investor.

The partnership is subject to Overseas Investment Office approval and financing documentation.

Construction is expected to commence soon, with a target opening date in early 2028.
