Downer EDI Limited has been selected to deliver the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program, the largest investment in new rollingstock in Queensland history.
The project includes the design, manufacture and commissioning of 65 six-car passenger trains, two training simulators, a purpose-built train manufacturing facility and a maintenance facility and stabling yards.
The project is expected to create jobs and support rail manufacturing in Queensland.
Revenue for Downer will be finalised at contract execution, which is due to occur in the coming months.
