Rakon (NZX: RAK) has appointed Sinead Horgan as an independent Non-Executive Director.
Ms Horgan has extensive experience in accounting, private equity, commercial banking, financial analysis, strategy development, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and is a Chartered Member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
She currently holds several board and executive positions, including Chair of the Audit and Risk Committees of Farmers Mutual Group, Bank of China (NZ) and Eco Central, as well as a director of Taggart Earthmoving and a co-owner and director of business consultancy Morrison Horgan.
Rakon Chair Bruce Irvine said Ms Horgan's skills and experience will make an important contribution to the company's governance.
Ms Horgan's appointment temporarily increases the current number of directors to eight and raises the number of independent directors to six.
