Restaurant Brands New Zealand has reported a 5.6% decrease in net profit after tax for the first half of the 2025 financial year.

The company's net profit for the period was $11.9 million, down from $12.6m in the same period last year.

However, store sales reached a record high of $703m, up 2.3% from the previous year.

The company's store ebitda was also down 4.1% at $91m.

Restaurant Brands said the decline in net profit was due to increased labour, energy and rental costs, as well as higher aggregator activity and value-seeking consumers.

The company said the recovery in New Zealand, Australia and California was slowed by the significant cost of living pressures on consumers.
