Tairawhiti-based company, Rua Bioscience, has initiated legal proceedings against Cannoperations, a subsidiary of Cann Group, over a breach of contractual rights.
Rua is seeking damages after alleging that Cann violated an exclusive supply term in their supply contract.
This term required Cann to exclusively supply specific medicinal cannabis products to Rua for resale in Australia and New Zealand.
The legal action was filed by Rua in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
In December 2023, Rua had announced that Cann Group had given a 12-month notice to terminate their existing supply contract.
