South Port New Zealand has reported a record net profit after tax of $13.3 million for the 2025 financial year, up 81% from the previous year.

The company's strong performance was driven by increased bulk cargo volumes, which were up 12.5% to 3 million tonnes, and stable container volumes, which were up 1% to 52,300 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU).

Total revenue also increased 13% to $63.3m, while ebitda rose 21% to $25.8m.

The company's debt-to-ebitda ratio improved to 1.0x, down from 1.6x.

South Port declared a final dividend of 20.5 cents per share, bringing the total dividend for the year to 28 cents per share.

Looking ahead, the company expects continued strength in bulk cargo and a recovery in Tiwai volumes.
