Spark announces leadership reshuffle, strategy changes

Spark has announced changes to its leadership team, effective from November 1, 2025.

The changes come after the release of the company's new five-year strategy.

Mark Beder has been appointed as the chief commercial officer, while Greg Clark will take on the expanded role of chief customer officer.

A new chief operating officer role will be created, with the current network and operations director, Renee Mateparae, deciding to explore new opportunities outside the company.

Matt Bain has been appointed as the chief technology and AI officer, and Leela Ashford as the chief brand and corporate affairs officer.

The general counsel and commercial director role, as well as the strategy and regulatory director role, have been combined into one chief strategy, legal, and regulatory officer role, with John Wesley-Smith being appointed to that position.
