Westpac Group has announced the appointment of Steven Gregg as a Non-executive Director and Chairman-Elect.
Gregg has over 35 years of experience in leadership roles across various sectors.
He will succeed outgoing Chairman John McFarlane, with his appointment effective from November 7, 2023, pending regulatory approvals.
McFarlane expressed confidence in Gregg's ability to bring a fresh perspective to the board and lead Westpac into its next chapter.
Gregg, in turn, stated his commitment to delivering the best service for customers and better returns for shareholders.
He will retire from his current director positions at Challenger Financial Group Limited and The Lottery Corporation in 2024.
