Air New Zealand's chief customer and sales officer, Leanne Geraghty, is stepping down after 20 years with the airline.

Geraghty, who joined the company in 2004 and became chief customer and sales officer in 2020, will leave in January and return to Australia.

During her tenure at Air New Zealand, she has played a key role in the successful market launches of several cities, including New York, Houston, Chicago, Taipei, Seoul, and Buenos Aires.

Geraghty has also led the airline's global sales efforts and been involved in brand and marketing initiatives.

The company says the process to find a replacement for her position will begin soon.
