WasteCo Group chief executive officer, David Peterson, has announced his intention to step down from his role, effective at the end of June 2025.

Peterson, who will be moving back to Australia to join his family, has been with the company during a period of growth and change, including the integration of key acquisitions and the expansion into the North Island.

WasteCo Group reported a sales increase of $8.18 million and a rise in operating ebitda of $1.27m for the 2025 financial year.

The board has already begun the search for a new chief executive officer, while chairman Roger Gower will assume an executive role in the interim.
