New Zealand freight and logistics company, TIL Logistics Group Limited (NZX: TLL), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Newman as an independent director, effective from today, 27 July 2021.
Mark has extensive domestic and international transport and logistics industry expertise, having held senior leadership roles with Mainfreight for over 20 years, as CEO Mainfreight Europe and General Manager New Zealand Transport.
Mark is the second new director appointed to the TIL Board in the past two months as the company undergoes a rejuvenation of both its share register and the Board. He is also the second Mainfreight alumni to join the Board, alongside Chris Dunphy who was appointed in July 2021.
Chair of TIL Logistics Group, Trevor Janes, said: “Mark brings with him a deep understanding of the New Zealand transport landscape along with a wealth of experience in building successful teams and developing strong culture. His extensive knowledge in bringing together businesses, brands and people will be invaluable as TIL moves into a new era.”
Mark Newman commented: “TIL Logistics are legends in the New Zealand freight industry. They’ve had great success in their regional dominance and now it’s time to put that into a wider nationwide context. I’m looking forward to working alongside the other TIL Directors and the management team to implement a strategic approach to the company’s growth in New Zealand and beyond.”
Mark Newman has been appointed by the current TIL Logistics’ Directors, as permitted under the company’s constitution. He will hold office until TIL Logistics’ 2021 Annual Meeting at which time he will offer himself for election by shareholders. The Board has determined that Mark will be an independent Director.
