Third Age Health Services Limited (NZX: TAH) advises that John Fernandes has been appointed as Chair of Third Age Health Services Limited, following the retirement of Bevan Walsh, which will occur at the conclusion of the company’s 2022 Annual General Meeting.
John has been a director of the company since 2019, and previously chaired the Audit Committee. This role will now be fulfilled by Wayne Williams.
Bevan will continue to serve as a board director and intends to remain a significant shareholder for the foreseeable future. Bevan currently holds 43.3% of issued share capital. For personal liquidity reasons he plans to sell a small percentage of his holding, including under an agreed fixed trading plan. A separate release has been made today to the NZX regarding the fixed trading plan.
Bevan founded Third Age Health in 2010 and has overseen its development to its present position as the leading provider of primary medical services in aged residential care along with the successful listing of the company on NZX, and the recent developments in our management team.
Bevan Walsh said: “Founding this service that provides high quality primary medical care to older adults and helping to guide it to the point it’s at now, has been the highlight of my career to date. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved in terms of health services innovation to date.”
Bevan continued: “John joined our Board while Third Age Health was still private and has been serving as Audit Committee Chair since that time. John passionately believes in Third Age Health’s potential and is focused on expanding the reach and quality of our services; proper governance, and the interests of owners. He is a shareholder and has consistently been a tremendous help to the Company, even before he had any official role. I am excited to see Third Age Health continue to grow and deliver, under the leadership of John as Chair of the Board and Tony Wai as CEO and remain a director to continue to add value as founder."
John Fernandes said: “I look forward to continuing to work with our Board and Tony Wai as we execute our strategy. I am confident that under Tony’s leadership Third Age Health will maintain our high-performance culture and leverage the many growth opportunities we have ahead of us to create significant shareholder value. I also want to thank Bevan for his many contributions in helping to build Third Age Health and his leadership as Chair.”
