Channel Infrastructure appoints new Chief Financial Officer

Channel Infrastructure (CHI) today announced the appointment of Alexa Preston as Chief Financial Officer from 29 September 2023.

Alexa has more than 20 years’ experience in senior management, finance, commercial, investment banking and advisory roles. Most recently, she held the position of Finance Lead Partner - Group Performance and Investor Relations at Spark New Zealand Limited.

Commenting, CEO Rob Buchanan said: “I am excited to announce Alexa’s appointment as the CFO of Channel Infrastructure. With her unique combination of finance and commercial experience she will be a hugely valuable addition to the team, and I’m looking forward to her helping to shape and deliver our strategy and execute on the growth opportunities ahead of us.”

Ms Preston says: “I am delighted to be joining the Channel Infrastructure team. There are many exciting opportunities to leverage Channel’s unique and highly strategic asset base to facilitate New Zealand’s energy resiliency and transition, and to support decarbonisation. I look forward to working with the team to deliver on these opportunities to drive Channel’s continued success.”

Alexa is a Chartered Accountant and began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers. She has held senior roles with Grant Samuel & Associates, KPMG, NZME Limited and Spark New Zealand Limited.

Alexa will take over from Denise Jensen, who has provided invaluable leadership, support, and continuity when she returned to the role as interim Chief Financial Officer.
