  • Joined the ministry in 1996 and has held senior leadership roles, mainly in personal and population health.
  • Helped establish the NZ Blood Service and Healthline, develop the palliative care strategy, and manage the cancer programme, including the development of bowel screening.
  • Returned to the ministry after two years at Hutt Valley DHB as service group manager, Surgical, Women's and Children's Health.
