Alliance Group said it would resume paying a distribution to farmer-shareholders after more than doubling its annual profit as China's shrinking swine herd boosted meat prices worldwide. The Invercargill-based cooperative announced a $9 million profit distribution to its 4,000 or so farmer-shareholders, having held on to its earnings last year to reinvest back into the business.It reported an after-tax profit before distributions of $13.9 million in the year ended Sept. 30, from $6.6 million a year earlier.
