Statistics New Zealand says there were 25% fewer new homes consented in July.Fewer new homes were consented in each month of 2023 so far, compared to the same month in 2022 and 2021.“The trend for the number of new homes consented peaked in early 2022 and has decreased 25% since then,” construction and property statistics manager Michael Heslop said.In the 12 months to the end of July, the annual number of homes consented fell by 14% to 43,487.But Heslop said the number of homes consented in the year ended July was still a...
