Perceptions about the jobs market remain firmly positive on balance but there are signs the labour market has passed its peak, according to the latest Westpac McDermott Miller employment confidence index.The index rose 1.5 points to 109.5 in the March quarter, still below the recent peak of 115.2 that was reached in the September 2022 quarter.  An index number over 100 suggests optimists outnumber pessimists.      While the index ticked up “there are some signs that we’ve passed the point of ‘peak overheati...
