Covid recovery fund derails $85m from PGF lines

About $85 million of the $600 million appropriated from the provincial growth fund into the covid response and recovery effort will come from money earmarked for tourism rail and local council developments that were unable to get their act together. Head of the provincial development unit with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, Robert Pigou, said the first tranche of funding, about $160 million, will be "repurposed" from the PGF into labour intensive projects such as environmental work and roading and rail investments. ...
