Auckland to stay in level 3 lockdown until Nov 1

Auckland will remain at the current level 3 lockdown restrictions for two more weeks, prime minister Jacinda Ardern said.Cabinet had also decided parts of Waikato would remain in level 3 until at least the end of the week because of new cases.Northland would move to level 2 from 11.59pm on Tuesday night due to there being no new cases.Ardern said the question for the cabinet today was how to prevent a spike in covid cases in Auckland while vaccination rates increase.
