Christian Hawkesby has been appointed deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and will take up the role in January.Hawkesby, who is currently the assistant governor and general manager of economics, financial markets and banking at the RBNZ, will replace Geoff Bascand, said governor Adrian Orr.Prior to taking up his current role in 2019, Hawkesby was part of the team that established Harbour Asset Management and before this, he spent nine years at the Bank of England in several senior positions.He will also take over leadership of th...
