PREVIEW: Tepid annual inflation not enough to deter rate cuts

Dearer food, airfares and house-related goods are expected to boost the pace of third-quarter inflation, but it won’t be enough to stave off further rate cuts as annual inflation continues to wane. Economists expect the consumers price index rose 0.6 percent in the three months ended Sep. 30, for an annual increase of 1.4 percent, according to the median estimate from a poll of economists by Bloomberg.
