Robertson urges RBNZ to take house price stability into account

Finance Minister Grant Robertson wants the central bank to take house price stability into consideration when formulating monetary policy as record low interest rates fuel the market.In a first move, he has written to central bank governor Adrian Orr to “seek his advice on possible ways the Reserve Bank can support the government to meet its economic objectives, in particular with regard to house prices.” The move comes against a rising clamour for the government to step in and do something about the overheated housing market.&...
