Retail sales for the September quarter rose 7.4 percent compared with the same quarter in 2019, the largest quarterly rise since 1995.Stats NZ data show a $1.8 billion increase in total retail sales in the September quarter on the same period last year.Motor vehicles and parts retailing posted the largest rise in sales and were up 13 percent, or by $454 million, to $3.86 billion overall compared with the same period in 2019.Supermarket and grocery stores spending was up 8.4 percent, or by $429 million, for a total spend of $5.52 billion.Sales i...
