Unemployment dropped to its lowest rate in nearly 14 years in the September quarter, helping drive up wages as employers fight for a diminishing pool of staff.The unemployment rate fell to 3.4% in the September quarter, matching the country’s lowest rate on record in December 2007, Stats NZ said.
